Indications
:
Acute rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, back pain, gout, post-operative pain, acute trauma, fracture, renal colic
.
Contra-Indications
:
Hypersensitivity to component, syndrome of nasal polyps, angiodema, bronchospastic reactivity to aspirin or other NSAID agents, active peptic ulcer. Supps: for inflammatory lesions rectum of anus, or in patients with recent history rectal or anal bleed
.
Special Precautions
:
Risk of GI ulceration, bleeding and perforation. Patients on prolonged corticosteroid therapy should have their therapy tapered slowly if a decision is made to discontinue corticosteroids. Should not be administered to patients with aspirin sensitivity, use with caution in patients with pre-existing asthma
.
Pregnancy and lactation: NSAID's are not recommended. Amounts excreted in breast milk with usual doses are considered too small to be harmful to the nursing infant
.
Side Effects
:
Dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence
