Dosage:
Initially: 910 mg/m2 1 x daily as 15 minute I.V. infusion starting within 30 minutes prior to chemotherapy. Antihypertension therapy to be interrupted 24 hours prior to chemotherapy. Protection against toxicities associated with radiation therapy: 200 mg/m2 as 3-minute I.V. infusion, starting within 15-30 minutes prior to radiation therapy. Indications:
Reduction of cumulative renal toxicity associated with repeated administration of cisplatin in advanced ovarian cancer or non-small cell lung cancer, in association with standard fract. radiation therapy to protect against acute and late xerostomia in head and neck cancer.
